Our Departments

ICT AND CORPORATE PLANNING DEPARTMENT

ICT and Corporate Planning department provides network design, installation and development of application software. It also prepares programmes, budget and reports. It runs the library and sales outfit of the Bureau and tender Secretariat. It coordinates and manages the Bureau’s Information System (Website and Portal). It provides technical assistance on the use of ICT equipment for the development and management of data.

CENSUS AND SURVEY DEPARTMENT

Census and Survey department conducts surveys in various sectors like; agriculture, economic, health, education etc., establishments, field surveys and household surveys. It conducts baseline studies or pilot surveys. It updates its establishments’ frame and works hand-in-hand with other Ministries, Departments and Agencies in carrying out their survey activities.

PLANNING, RESEARCH AND STATISTICS DEPARTMENT

The department ensures that sectoral data are available for the preparation of medium-term development and strategic plans. It coordinate, monitors and evaluates programmes and projects across sectors and produces periodic reports. It ensures that budgets are prepared using the Budget Classification and Chart of Accounts. It prepares plans and annual budgets in line with the state`s development objectives and policy focus and ensures multi-sectoral coverage and linkages –  publishing and disseminating such plans and budgets. It establishes and maintain strong coordination mechanisms to mainstream programmes/projects of government and those supported by external agencies. It maintains a database for planning purposes. It produces monitoring and evaluation framework to guide M&E state-wide. It conducts data and economic investigations with a view to determine the socio-economic conditions (Baseline) of the State.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT

The department, as the image maker of the State Bureau, anticipates, interprets and analyzes public opinions toward the State Bureau. It enhances and manages reputation of the Bureau for stakeholders, development partners and the general public through press releases and other content for news, working with the media, acting as the Bureau’s spokesperson, writing website and social media contents as well as managing internal communication. It ensures effective information dissemination through trustworthy partnership and appropriate inclusiveness. It keeps the public fully informed about available data that could be used for economic and development planning, baseline needs of development partners and for monitoring and evaluation of programmes likewise forthcoming researches and data enumerations. It undertakes partnership building and consolidation with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, development partners, Non Governmental Organizations including Civil Societies, communities and other relevant social groups. It oversees the arrangement of cooperate meetings, conferences, parties and other public events the Bureau may hold or partake in. It popularizes the activities of the Bureau, creates visibility and ensures quality printing of reports, journals, news bulletins and Statistical Year Book while maintaining standard e-library for its publics.

ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT

Accounts department manages all accounting transactions of the State Bureau. It ensures timely bank payments. It audits financial transactions and documents. It reinforces financial data confidentiality and conducts database backup when necessary. It handles monthly and quarterly returns. It prepares Bank Reconciliation statements as well as budget forecasts.

ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT

The administration department is in charge of all administrative services of the State Bureau.
